- Pearl Cafe - If I opened a restaurant/cafe it would be in the same mould as Pearl, home made cakes, cookies, muffins, brownies, etc. Awesome menu that changes with the season. Staff are so educated and friendly (relaxed). The atmosphere is great, however it is a little small, but I think this adds to the charm and atmosphere. Best coffe I have had in Brisbane.

- Anise Bistro and Wine Bar - I took my wife to Anise for her birthday and we both loved the cosy and relaxed atmosphere. The staff made it so easy, they were knowledgeable and were happy to chat to you or chat with themselves, which showed us how passionate they were about the the food and especially the wine. The French food was inspiring and prompt and well priced. I couldn't fault it and we are going back for my wifes next birthday.

- Piaf Cafe - Brilliant food and service, nice and quiet most nights. The food is very French/modern australian and very elegant, you would think you would have to pay through the roof, but the prices are very affordable (Entrees are $10 , Mains are $16 - $20), deserts are $10). The wine list is also very comprehensive.

- Jellyfish - I went to Jellyfish for a work function. Beautiful fresh fish (Huge range) cooked the way you like it, with the flavours you want. I am not usually a big fan of fish, but I would go back to Jellyfish at the drop of a hat.

- Pane e Vino - I have to admit I haven't been there in a couple of years but before that I went there about 20 times over a four and five year period and absolutely loved the Fettuccine Con Polo eh Fungi..... Very affordable, very relaxed.
